GREENPEACE

Greenpeace is an independent environmental campaigning organization. Greenhouse has its offices over 39 countries. Greenpeace’s mission is to expose environmental issues to the public and seek effective solutions. Its goal is to "ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity". The topics Greenpeace focuses on include climate change, deforestation, etc. Greenpeace along with actor Jude Law produced a film about a polar bear appearing in London, which is part of the “Save the Arctic” campaign. The film is intended to protect polar bears from the harm of the industrial development such as oil drilling.

SIERRA CLUB

The Sierra Club is an environmental organization founded by John Muir in the United States. Its current focuses include promoting sustainable energy, mitigating global warming, and opposing the use of coal. One of the specialities of the Sierra Club is that the club is organized on both a national and local level, so people can easily involve in the club.

350.ORG

350.org uses online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions to oppose some environmental actions, including coal, oil, and gas projects. 350.org also uses money taking away from the companies that are accelerating climate change and use this money to build more energy solutions. One of its goals is to keep pressure on the government so that the government keeps carbon emissions low. Its three principles are “we believe in climate justice”, “we’re stronger when we collaborate”, and “mass mobilizations make change”.

NATURAL RESOURCES DEFENSE COUNCIL, INC.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit international environmental advocacy group founded in 1970. Its members come from diverse fields including lawyers, scientists and political experts. NRDC’s goal is to influence federal and state government to reduce or limit pollution, including having influence on the implementation of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc. NRDC believes that the best ways to mitigate climate change are to cut carbon pollution and expand clean energy.
